Covid-19 : appel à mobilisation des professionnels de santé pour faire face à la troisième vague

COVID-19: Call for healthcare professionals to step up and help tackle the third wave

While healthcare professionals have been on the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic for over a year, healthcare facilities are facing significant strain due to the resurgence of the pandemic across the country. The continued mobilization of healthcare professionals is therefore crucial for the care of patients with Covid-19, as well as all other patients, and to ensure the rotation of hospital staff. In this context, the Ministry of Solidarity and Health has decided to activate several measures, including the Health Reserve, to increase the number of volunteers available to provide reinforcement in healthcare facilities. Since vaccination efforts are managed and organized by local stakeholders, they are utilizing the human resources available in their region.

The Santé publique France Medical Reserve Mobilized

Following the call for mobilization issued on March 31, 2021, to 27,000 reservists, nearly 1,000 reservists volunteered and declared themselves available to reinforce healthcare facilities affected by COVID-19. Additionally, the Government has taken measures to support the mobilization of retired healthcare professionals, students, private practitioners, and those already registered with the Health Reserve. Consequently, a temporary exceptional increase in the pay scale for reservists was proposed by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and swiftly approved by the Board of Directors of Santé publique France. These new exceptional and temporary rates will apply to reservists mobilized in the coming weeks.
