JACARDI: Joint European Action on Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes

Launched in November 2023, the JACARDI project aims to help European Union member states reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and associated risk factors, both at the individual and societal levels.

JACARDI at a Glance

  • 21 European countries are participating in the project, including Ukraine, involving 76 partners and more than 300 public health experts

  • JACARDI is organized into 11 working groups

  • 142 pilot projects

  • Santé publique France leads the working group on health literacy and coordinates 25 pilot projects on this topic from 15 countries. It is also the competent authority for France and oversees the work of JACARDI-France in collaboration with five other affiliated French entities (Nantes University Hospital, Tours University Hospital, Toulouse University Hospital, Lyon University Hospital, and Saint-Brieuc-Paimpol-Tréguier Hospital) to ensure the complementarity and consistency of actions.

  • Delivery in 2027 of a roadmap of effective or promising actions and interventions designed to help European Union member states implement these actions and interventions at the national and/or regional level.
