Consolidated results of Flash Survey #19 (August 10, 2021)
5,373 samples from 17 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (19% of the 28,609 positive cases reported today), including 4,697 with an interpretable result.
The following variants of concern1 were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
99.0% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
0.6% of 20I variants (Alpha, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
< 0.1% of 20J variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
< 0.1% of 20I/484K variants (B.1.1.7 + E484K, first identified in the United Kingdom)
< 0.1% of 20H variants (Beta, V2, B.1.351, first identified in South Africa)
In the Overseas Territories:
In Guadeloupe: 92.9% Delta variants and 7.1% Alpha variants
In Martinique: 79.6% Delta variants and 20.4% Alpha variants
In French Guiana: Sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, Delta accounts for all 8 sequenced samples with interpretable results.
In Réunion: 79.7% Delta variants, 18.0% Beta variants, 2.3% Alpha variants
In Mayotte: No participation in Flash Survey #19 (very low number of positive cases).
