How is the French public’s adherence to preventive measures against winter viruses changing? Results from Wave 36 of the CoviPrev survey

Key indicators of preventive behaviors among the French population during Wave 36 (December 5–12, 2022) and a comparison with the previous wave (September 12–19, 2022).

  • 26% of participants plan to follow safety measures less strictly during the holiday season than last year (versus 12% at the end of 2021).

  • 58% of respondents said they plan to celebrate Christmas 2022 with 6 people or fewer (compared to 61% in 2021 and 83% in 2020).

  • 75% of respondents targeted by the fall booster shot are in favor of it, with 30% having already received it.

  • 54% (+6%) of those targeted by the flu vaccination campaign reported being vaccinated against the flu or intending to do so.

  • 94% of respondents who had a recent positive test result complied with isolation requirements.
