Incidence rates are rising and are particularly high in Martinique (>3,000/100,000)
Variants
Omicron accounted for more than 99.9% of interpretable sequences in the Flash S09 survey of 02/28
BA.2 sublineage predominant (57% in S09)
Contact tracing
Increase in the number of new cases (+25%) and new at-risk contacts (+14%)
Among those contacted, 82% of cases and 84% of contacts were reached via text message
Prevention
Vaccination as of March 15, 2022 (Covid Vaccine data):
79.5% of the total population had received a full primary vaccination series
73.0% of those aged 18 and older had received a booster dose (82.6% of eligible individuals) and 83.0%
Importance of combined measures: a complete vaccination schedule including a booster shot as early as three months after the initial series, as well as continued adherence to preventive measures (wearing masks, handwashing, frequent ventilation of enclosed spaces) and participation in contact tracing
