In Week 02, SARS-CoV-2 continued to circulate at high levels.
Incidence, positivity, and testing rates have stabilized nationwide
Increase in the number of cases among those aged 75 and older, and in nursing homes
Increase in hospitalizations and ICU admissions since early January
Most affected regions: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Est, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Mortality
COVID-19-related mortality remains high
Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants
131 cases of infection with the VOC 202012/01 variant (United Kingdom) and 10 cases of infection with the 501Y.V2 variant (South Africa) have been identified
Prevention
Vaccination: 692,777 people vaccinated as of January 20, 2021
Strengthening adherence to preventive measures and contact tracing for everyone
If symptoms develop, immediate isolation is required, and a test must be taken as soon as possible
