Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of March 31, 2013.

Since September 1, 2012, 1,147 cases of CO poisoning have been reported to the surveillance system, involving 3,749 people, including 39 deaths.

Between March 18 and 31, 2013 (weeks 2013_S12 and 2013_S13):

  • one case of poisoning linked to the use of a gas convector heater occurred in a church, exposing 150 people to CO fumes; 24 of them were transported to hospital emergency rooms,

  • three deaths from CO poisoning were reported.
