Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of March 17, 2013.

Since September 1, 2012, 1,078 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been reported to the surveillance system, involving 3,409 people, including 35 deaths.

Between March 4 and 17, 2013 (weeks 2013_S10 and 2013_S11):

  • One poisoning incident occurred in a nursing home, exposing five people to CO fumes.

  • Five incidents occurred due to the improper use of generators inside homes, including one during construction work.
