Event Objectives

Initiated by and for general practitioners, the CMGF offers a unique opportunity to bring together all stakeholders in general medicine. Nearly 4,000 participants are expected to attend the plenary lectures and parallel sessions, as well as to network with peers.
By participating in this 17th edition of the CMGF, organized by the College of General Medicine from March 21 to 23, 2024, at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, Santé publique France aims to discuss public health challenges and exchange best practices.

Target Audience

It is intended for general practitioners—both future and experienced—as well as experts in other medical disciplines and representatives of healthcare and research institutions.

Two sessions co-organized by Santé publique France

Each year, as part of the conference, sessions are organized to share the latest medical and scientific information, as well as ways to improve daily practices in general medicine. A strong emphasis is placed on discussion and debate.
Among the sessions scheduled for the 2024 CMGF program, two are co-organized by Santé publique France:

  • “Global Warming: What Are the Health Impacts?”, Thursday, March 21, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Heat waves, droughts, cyclones, rising sea levels, population displacement… What impact will this have on health? Can we anticipate the emergence of new infectious diseases? As the geographic range of vector-borne diseases (Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya) expands and changes, when and how should we consider diagnosis? What treatments are available? What precautions should be taken during heat waves for vulnerable patients and those with chronic conditions?

  • “The Medical Reserve in the Face of Exceptional Health Situations (ESS)” on Friday, March 22, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Serving in the Medical Reserve: a rewarding and community-oriented endeavor. What are the missions? What are the needs? What is the commitment? Organization and training. A reservist physician’s experience. How to get involved.

Come visit us at booth #42!

We will also have a booth at the conference where you can find our resources and tools (brochures, flyers, magazines, practical guides) on various topics (addiction, sexual health, nutrition, mental health, etc.) to support doctors in their practice and help them expand their knowledge on issues related to addiction, sexual health, dietary recommendations, environmental health, vaccinations, and more.

The General Practitioner: A Key Player in Public Health

As a healthcare professional, the general practitioner plays a crucial role in promoting public health due to their in-depth knowledge of the patient, their family circle, and their environment. With a comprehensive perspective, they occupy a privileged position as essential partners of Santé publique France in the areas of health surveillance, particularly the SurSaUD syndromic surveillance system, the Sentinelles network, and notifiable diseases…

General practitioners are also partners in all of our social marketing and prevention initiatives, such as No Smoking Month and Vaccination Week. We produce a range of resources to support them in their practice and disseminate essential prevention messages.
