Technical information on occupational exposure to petroleum fuels and solvents. Job-exposure matrix for petroleum fuels and solvents

The purpose of this guide is to present the occupation-exposure matrix specific to petroleum fuels and solvents developed by the Department of Occupational Health (DST) of the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) and Umrestte (Joint Unit for Epidemiological Research and Surveillance in Transportation, Work, and the Environment, Inrets/UCBL/InVS), and to provide technical information on occupational exposure to these products in France. The job-exposure matrix provides, for all jobs considered to be exposed in France, the probability, frequency, and intensity of exposure for five categories of petroleum fuels or solvents (benzene; special gasoline and other non-aromatic petroleum fractions; motor gasoline; white spirits and other light aromatic fractions; diesel, fuel oils, and kerosene), as well as a probability and a level for exposure to at least one of these products.
