Cosmop Project: Cohort for Monitoring Mortality by Occupation. Initial Results from the Feasibility Study Using the Permanent Demographic Sample

Little information is currently available in France regarding the impact of occupational factors on the health of the working population. To partially address this gap, the Department of Occupational Health (DST) at the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance is developing various systems for the epidemiological surveillance of occupational health, designed to regularly provide a range of indicators on occupational risks among the French population. It is within this framework that the DST has established a systematic and ongoing analysis of mortality by occupation, economic sector, and cause of death, the initial results of which are presented here.
