Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Update as of September 4, 2024.
Key Points
Syndromic Surveillance
In week 35, emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations remained stable compared to the previous week across all age groups, with the exception of SOS Médecins consultations among those under 15 (+11.7%), as expected at the end of summer vacation.
After declining last week, pertussis cases are once again on the rise among those aged 15 to 64 seeking care through SOS Médecins. Pertussis cases remain higher than in the previous three years across all age groups in both emergency department visits and SOS Médecins calls.
After a sharp decline in week 34, the number of cases of hyperthermia/heatstroke increased across all age groups in emergency departments and SOS Médecins calls in week 35.
SAMU
In week 35, the daily number of calls to SAMU remained within expected levels for all SAMU units.
Wastewater Monitoring
The upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation continued in week 35, although the situation remains mixed (with a trend toward stabilization in Île-de-France and an increase in Centre-Val de Loire).
