Key Points

In Week 35 (August 24–30, 2026), compared with the previous week, the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits remained stable across all age groups.

Most indicators are stable or declining among both children and adults, and the levels observed are comparable to or even lower than those in previous years.

However, there was an increase in visits for:

  • Asthma attacks among children (+21%, or +118 visits) and, to a lesser extent, among those aged 15–64 (+6%, or +46 visits);
  • Suspected COVID-19 infections (+31%, or +55 visits) across all age groups, though at levels lower than in previous years;
  • Other neurological conditions among those aged 75 and older (+31%, or +107 visits).
