Since April 1942, when it was founded by Pierre Delore, *La Santé de l'homme* has chronicled the changes in our society and supported the thinking of stakeholders and decision-makers. To mark its 70th anniversary, the journal traces the evolution of several themes in health education and, through expert perspectives, outlines what health promotion might look like in the future.
