Health in Action, September 2018, No. 445: Health Promotion in Schools: Improving the School Climate.
Is well-being in middle and high school closely linked to the school climate? The latest research confirms this, demonstrating the virtuous cycle that develops between a positive school climate, well-being, and motivation. The school climate has a positive impact on students’ mental health. This issue provides an overview of current knowledge and practices; some thirty experts have contributed to it. Together, these contributions highlight the importance of the human factor, kindness, and high standards—elements that inspire both girls and boys to strive for success in school. Also in this issue: health inequalities, physical activity among people with cancer, women and precarious living conditions, support for at-risk youth, and prevention of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
