Vulnerable Foreign Nationals: Prevention, Care, and Support. A Practical Guide for Professionals

Developed by the Comede team based on the day-to-day experiences of the organization’s staff and volunteers, this guide—produced in partnership with Santé publique France—aims to provide solutions to the most common health issues faced by refugees. Given that requests for support, medical care, access to healthcare, and legal advice often go hand in hand, understanding the medical, psychological, social, and administrative aspects of their experiences is crucial to providing appropriate care and support. Designed to promote a multidisciplinary approach, this guide consists of four sections—key facts, rights and support, access to care, care and prevention—whose theoretical and practical information complements one another for the various readers this guide is intended for: healthcare professionals, social workers, legal and administrative support specialists, volunteers, and others. New for the 2023 edition: the guide is now available in print for the introductions to the various topics covered, and online at guide.comede.org for more detailed content that may change based on current events, with the assurance of regular updates.
