Toward evidence-based public policy
One of the most important challenges in prevention and health promotion is identifying effective interventions and promoting their dissemination so that the population can benefit from them as widely as possible. Unfortunately, to date, the results of research in prevention and health promotion have been significantly underutilized. However, in recent decades, there has been a growing number of initiatives aimed at identifying these effective interventions and raising awareness of them. Thus, in France, Europe, the United States, and around the world, many public health agencies have created websites to publicize programs that have proven to be effective. This article provides an overview of these initiatives.
