Supporting Parenting: Why and How? Different Approaches to the Same Concept.

Based on an analysis of the scientific literature, official reports, and gray literature, the author identifies four main approaches to parenting support: repressive, social, sociological, and psycho-educational. For each approach, two aspects are addressed: first, conceptions of parenting, the problems associated with it, and the expected outcomes of supporting parenting (why support parenting?); second, the interventions implemented (how to support parenting?).
