Special Education in Villeurbanne: At the School of Self-Esteem [Interview].
This unique school aims to build self-esteem and develop psychosocial skills: students who are blind or visually impaired no longer have to move from classroom to classroom; instead, the teachers come to them. A cosmetologist visits once a month to lead a session for ten students (both visually impaired and non-disabled) to teach them about facial and body care techniques. She provides theoretical information on the products used and different skin types, as well as practical lessons on skin and hand care and makeup techniques. Teachers, the medical-social team, school life staff, general services, and administration support the students in their learning journey.
