Social determinants and access to health care
In France, the population’s health status is marked by a paradox: good health on average, but significant health inequalities beginning in childhood and continuing throughout life. Social health inequalities result from an unequal distribution of social determinants—the social, political, economic, cultural, and environmental factors that shape the living conditions in which people are born, grow up, live, and age.
