Psychoactive substances: the unique characteristics of Martinique.

The use of psychoactive substances in Martinique presents a mixed picture: while tobacco use is low—resulting in lower mortality rates from cancer and coronary heart disease compared to other French regions—the use of alcohol and crack is on the rise, and excessive alcohol consumption among men remains a major concern. A prevention plan must be implemented to strengthen the efforts of professionals and organizations.
