Oral Health in Older Adults

Many older adults, whether or not they require care, have poor dental health due to a lack of preventive care and appropriate treatment. Experts emphasize the need to integrate oral health into general health promotion and to train professionals—healthcare providers and caregivers—who work with older adults on a daily basis. Only multidisciplinary interventions can improve oral health and, consequently, the quality of life for these individuals.
