Opening support centers for patients and their families [Interview].

Often, a person is stigmatized simply because they are sick. Christian Saout, president of the Inter-Association Health Collective (CISS), condemns this kind of societal rejection. Stigmatization is a look, a word, an attitude, an act; it even begins with silence. Supporting patients so they can speak out, creating “personalized care and support plans for patients and their loved ones,” and helping them assert their rights in the face of stigmatization and discrimination—these are the goals the Ciss has set for itself.
