This special issue of *La santé de l'homme*, consisting of nine articles, addresses the challenges and shortcomings of the mental health system and outlines the main directions of the policy implemented by the Ministry: the organization of psychiatric care, the reintegration of people with mental illness, and the promotion of clinical research and communication. In particular, it explores the image and perceptions associated with mental health, as well as specific approaches to prevention and promotion. A theater project involving people with mental illness and disabilities is also presented.
