Local Councils: The Missing Link in Mental Health.

A new development in the French public health landscape, local mental health councils (CLSMs) are expanding rapidly; to date, more than 130 CLSMs are operational. They bring together all stakeholders at the city level: elected officials, mental health professionals, social services, representatives of organizations and citizens, and others. The CLSMs play an important role in promoting mental health. In particular, the initiatives they implement enable early detection of mental health disorders and facilitate access to care facilities.
