International Students Facing Severe Hardship During the Covid-19 Pandemic [Interview]

The nonprofit sector is on the front lines in helping international students, some of whom have found themselves in precarious situations since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Bordeaux, the nonprofit Aquitaine Afrique Initiatives (Aqafi) provides them with material support (food packages) and psychological support, and is collaborating with other organizations to assist them. The nonprofit advocates for tailored support for these students upon their arrival, including educational, social, and health support during their studies and into the early stages of their professional lives.
