The Impact of Housing on Physical Health

Housing is a major determinant of public health. There are scientifically proven links between people’s health, the quality of their housing, and where they live. Housing can affect physical health in many ways, either by causing various health conditions or by exacerbating them. Social inequalities in access to affordable, quality housing hit younger generations, women, and minorities the hardest, who also face significant discrimination in accessing housing.
