How is the Internet used to search for health information?
Santé publique France studies the health attitudes and behaviors of the French population through the Health Barometer, a survey that includes a specific module on the use of the Internet for health-related issues. Before seeing a doctor, many of us do indeed search for information online. Young people, pregnant women, and parents are the groups most likely to engage in these practices. What are their sources of information? What topics do they search for, how reliable is the information, and what impact does this have on their health?
