The Health Barometer surveys adapt to changes in society.

Since 1992, INPES—formerly CFES—has conducted surveys known as the Health Barometers on the health-related behaviors, knowledge, and opinions of the French public, a valuable tool for organizing preventive health initiatives. To accurately reflect the structure of the population, these Barometers have been adapted to survey a larger sample (30,000 people in 2005) and to include individuals who have only a cell phone. The new INPES Health Barometer, published on March 9, 2006, incorporates these changes.[article excerpt]
