Evaluated international programs for addiction prevention in schools

It is widely recognized that preventing addictive behaviors among young people relies heavily on the development of psychosocial skills. Two scientifically validated programs—one European, Unplugged, and the other from Quebec, Primavera—have been implemented in schools across France. Prevention officers and educational teams, who implement these programs, adapt them to local contexts while adhering to the methodological frameworks. However, training, support, and sustainable financial resources are essential to ensure their effectiveness and large-scale implementation.
