Accident-related morbidity and mortality associated with cycling in France

According to the 2000 Health Barometer survey conducted by the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education, 55.2% of people aged 12 to 75 reported having ridden a bicycle in the past 12 months: more than half of all French people therefore ride a bicycle at least once a year. This widespread practice is likely to result in significant morbidity and mortality.
