500 teachers, supervisors, and other staff members from 31 middle schools in the Somme region have been trained in the principles of kindness and firmness. An initial assessment highlights the fact that the principles of mutual respect and encouragement strengthen bonds among members of the educational community; the approach improves the school climate in classrooms and within the school, as well as school-family relationships when parents are actively involved.
