COVID-19 in France. Update as of September 11, 2024.

Key Points

  • In week 36, syndromic indicators showed a slight increase in the community and remained stable in hospitals.

  • Virological indicators have remained generally stable for several weeks.

  • In wastewater, an upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation was observed.

  • However, indicators reflecting active SARS-CoV-2 circulation since June 2024 remained at levels lower than those observed during the last winter season.

  • Adhering to preventive measures remains an effective way to protect against respiratory infections and their complications and to limit the risk of transmission to others, particularly vulnerable individuals: wearing a mask if symptoms are present and regular handwashing are therefore recommended.
