Sun exposure and sun protection for long-term travelers in countries with intense sunlight.

Ultraviolet rays are known to play a major role in accelerating skin aging and the development of skin tumors. However, the increase in the duration and frequency of vacations in sunny countries and the trend toward tanning have led to greater sun exposure over the past fifty years. Health information for travelers generally includes warnings about sun exposure, although these are not always included in travel advisories. These warnings are particularly important for fair-skinned individuals traveling to countries with intense sunlight. The objective of this study is to describe the sun exposure behavior and sun protection habits of long-term travelers, during the year the questionnaire was sent out, in countries with high levels of sunlight at the time of their stay, among volunteers who participated in the SU.VI.MAX cohort (SUpplements in VItamins and Anti-oXidant Minerals).
