The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games was held on 11 August 2024. In anticipation of the start of the Paralympic Games on 28 August, Santé publique France is maintaining a high level surveillance.

Syndromic surveillance

• Activity was stable in hospital emergency departments in week 33 but up in general practice (SOS Médecins network), in all age groups. This increase is usual at this time of year.

• In both networks, there was an increase in consultations for digestive symptoms, including gastroenteritis, in all age groups.

• After falling in week 32, pertussis is on the rise this week in both networks, in adults and children.

Wastewater surveillance

• In week 33, the downward trend in the level of circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in the wastewater continued throughout France.
