General Summary
In Week 26 (June 22–28, 2026), overall activity increased among people aged 75 and older in both networks, reaching levels higher than in the previous three years, and among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments. 2
Amid a heat wave, both networks saw an increase in emergency department visits, with rates higher than in previous years for:
- Heatstroke/hyperthermia (all ages),
- Dehydration (all ages),
- Malaise and isolated fever (all ages),
- Hyponatremia (among those aged 75 or older in emergency departments),
- Deterioration in general health (among those aged 75 and older in the SOS Médecins network only),
- Gastrointestinal symptoms: gastroenteritis and vomiting (all ages, in the emergency department only),
- ENT infections (in children, at levels comparable to the previous 3 years).
There was also an 85% increase (241 more cases) in deaths reported by SOS Médecins among those aged 75 and older.
