Key Points

Adoption of protective measures and behaviors

  • A decline in adherence to physical distancing recommendations and an increase in risky social behaviors beginning with the lifting of the first lockdown (mid-May) and continuing through July–August 2020. Increased adoption of preventive measures starting in October.

  • Lower adherence to preventive measures (hygiene and physical distancing) was observed among men, people under 35, and those with low health literacy.

Mental Health

  • Anxiety, depression, and sleep problems associated with being in a difficult financial situation, being a woman, and having a history of psychological disorders.

  • During the most recent period in November, the prevalence of anxiety disorders was 20.2%, that of depressive disorders was 18.8%, and that of sleep problems was 62.8%. These prevalence rates are similar to those observed during the first lockdown.
