Key Points

Asthma at the Start of the School Year

  • In S40, the number of asthma cases among children under 15 at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments decreased to a level lower than that typically observed in previous years.

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • In Corsica, since May 1, two imported cases of dengue have been confirmed (the most recent in week 35).

Acute Respiratory Infections

  • In some regions of mainland France, an increase in influenza and/or COVID-19 activity has already been observed in recent weeks.
  • Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: baseline level. Very low activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments.
  • COVID-19: very slight increase in activity at SOS Médecins. Activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments remained very low.

Mortality

  • During Week 39, the number of deaths from all causes, based on INSEE civil registry data, remained within the usual range of fluctuation in Corsica.
    The number of deaths from all causes, certified electronically, in Week 40 also remained in line with what is typically observed (as the numbers are low and fluctuate in Corsica).
