Santé publique France develops technical assistance projects and responds to international epidemiological emergencies and requests for expertise from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health. It carries out cooperative initiatives in the areas of epidemiological surveillance, information technology applied to public health, and training in intervention epidemiology. Through these initiatives, Santé publique France seeks to build long-term relationships with counterpart institutions in partner countries. Santé publique France collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO), and more specifically with the Communicable Diseases Group, to strengthen global networks for epidemic alert and response.

However, Santé publique France is unable to respond to individual requests for medical advice or guidance regarding travel.
