No locally acquired cases have been identified in mainland France.

Imported cases

From May 1, when enhanced surveillance began, through July 12, 2026, the following cases were identified:

  • 69 imported cases of chikungunya
  • 215 imported cases of dengue
  • 9 imported cases of Zika

West Nile virus infections

Autochthonous cases

As of July 16, 2026, one locally acquired case of West Nile virus infection was identified in the Pyrénées-Orientales (Occitanie). This is the first detection of the virus circulating in humans in France in 2026.
