Monkeypox Cases in France: 2022 Summary.

  • The distribution by region of residence (or by region of reporting when the region of residence was unknown) shows that the Île-de-France region had the highest number of cases (n=3,119, or 63%).

  • The reported cases involved 4,927 adults aged 15 years and older.

  • Among the cases for which information was available (n=1,412), 40% reported direct contact with a confirmed or suspected Mpox case.

  • One hundred cases (3.2%) were hospitalized during 2022 due to their infection with the monkeypox virus. Among the reported cases, 19% had been vaccinated against smallpox.
