Falls, Accidents, and Head Injuries: Descriptive Analyses. Santé publique France Barometer: Results of the 2024 Edition

Nearly one in five adults reports having fallen in the past 12 months, with variations by gender and age. Young adults (ages 18–29) and the oldest age group (ages 70–79) are at the highest risk of falling. Over the past 12 months, 13.8% of adults report having experienced at least one accident. 4.9% of adults living in mainland France report having suffered a head injury (HI) over the past 12 months. Men and young adults are most affected by HIs.
