Vaping: Current Trends and Recent Developments. Santé publique France Barometer: Results of the 2024 Edition

In 2024, 7.9% of people aged 18 to 79 reported vaping, with 6.1% doing so daily. Vaping and daily vaping have been on the rise since 2016 (among 18- to 75-year-olds in mainland France). The proportion of daily vapers varies by socioeconomic status: from 5.2% among managers to 7.3% among blue-collar workers; from 4.2% among those who report being financially comfortable to 8.2% among those who perceive their financial situation as difficult or even unable to make ends meet without going into debt. Daily vaping is more common in four regions compared to the average of other regions: Normandy (7.2%), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (7.4%), Brittany (9.1%), and Corsica (10.0%). Almost all daily vapers in 2024 have experience with tobacco: nearly half (47.7%) also smoke, and half (49.5%) are former smokers.
