Assessment of French middle school students’ acceptance of the peer-led smoking prevention program “Assist”

Poster presented at the 2nd Adelf-SFSP Congress, October 4–6, 2017, in Amiens (France): Science and Health Stakeholders: Bridging Knowledge and Practice. Tobacco prevention in France is taking a new direction (PRNT, plain packaging, “Moi(s) sans tabac,” etc.). These initiatives are directly inspired by effective programs implemented abroad. In this context, prevention efforts among young people will be strengthened, notably through the rollout of the UK-based peer-to-peer prevention program Assist. This work aims not to validate its effectiveness—which has already been demonstrated in the UK—but to assess its relevance in a French-speaking context.
