In Week 36 (August 31–September 6, 2026), compared with the previous week, the number of emergency department visits increased among children aged 2–14 (+8%, or +3,863 visits) and remained stable in other age groups. Hospitalizations following emergency department visits increased among children under 2 years old (+6%, or +342 hospitalizations) while remaining stable in other age groups.

All observed indicators are at levels comparable to or even lower than in previous years.

With the start of the school year, there has been an increase in visits for:

• Respiratory, ENT, and infectious diseases:
  • Asthma attacks among children under 15 years of age (+58%, or +464 visits).
  • ENT conditions in children under 2 years old (+24%, or +431 visits).
  • Suspected COVID-19 infections in all age groups (+50%, or +116 visits), though levels remain lower than in previous years.
  • Influenza/flu-like illness: an uptick in cases across all age groups and in both healthcare networks over the past 5 weeks, with a higher incidence than in previous years among adults in emergency departments over the past 2 weeks.
  • Isolated fever among children under 15 (+9%, or +230 visits).
• Injuries among 2- to 14-year-olds (+13%, or +2,348 visits).
• Suicidal attempts among children under 15 (+21%, or +27 visits).
