In week 38 (September 16–22), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children (+17%, or 3,327 more visits) for the second consecutive week and among adults aged 15–74 (+8%, or 3,183 more visits).

Over the past week, there has been a sharp increase in seasonal respiratory conditions, including:

  • bronchiolitis in children under 2 years old (+87%, or 72 cases) and asthma in those 15 years and older (+30%, or 133 cases);

  • bronchitis (+45%, or +939 visits) and ENT conditions (+27%, or +4,678 visits) across all age groups;

There was also an increase in cases of gastroenteritis (+9%, or +383 cases) across all age groups.

Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for infectious conjunctivitis (+31%) in children under 2 years of age, viral syndrome (+9%) and vomiting (+14%) among children aged 2–14, and deaths (+6%), heart conditions (+35%), anxiety (+18%), and falls (+26%) among those aged 75 and older.
