Summary
In Week 20 (May 13–19, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity decreased among children under 2 years of age (-9.8%, or -531 visits) and among adults (-6.7%, or -3,405 visits). It remained stable among children aged 2–14.
Over the past week, among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in cases for: - allergies among children aged 2–14 (+17.7%, or +75 cases) and among adults aged 15–74 (+10.5%, or +83 cases). This indicator is down among children under 2 years old and people aged 75 and older (-18.2% and -21.5%, respectively); - insect bites across all age groups (+12% across all ages, or +38 cases); - meningitis among adults (14 cases in S20 compared to 7 in S19). Furthermore, cases of asthma, which saw a slight increase in S19 among adults, are down in S20 (-14.6%, or -77 cases).
There was also an increase in procedures for bronchitis (+6.4%) and trauma (+8.0%) among children aged 2–14 and deaths (+7.4%, or +21 procedures) among people aged 75 and older.
