Summary
In week 19 of 2017 (May 8–14), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children aged 2–14 (+8%) and remained stable in other age groups.
Consultations for seasonal conditions were stable or declining among adults, with the exception of cases involving allergies (+16%), asthma (+8%), and isolated fever (+8%) among adults aged 15–74.Among children aged 2–14, the rise in consultations that began last week continues, though less markedly, for several seasonal conditions, particularly pneumonia (+26%), asthma (+12%), and upper respiratory tract conditions (10%). Among children under 2 years of age, there is an increase in consultations for bronchiolitis (+12%) in a small sample size. Among seasonal conditions, only consultations for upper respiratory tract conditions account for a higher proportion of activity than in the previous two years.
Among the main conditions seen in consultations, a continued increase in consultations for chickenpox (+16%) was observed among children aged 2–14. Consultations also rose for acute abdominal pain (+20%), ENT/stomatology (+16%), and trauma (+7%).Among adults aged 15 to 74, there was also an increase in consultations for trauma (+10%). Notably, among adults aged 15 and older, there was a continued rise in consultations for anxiety (+15%).
