Summary

In Week 19 (May 4–10, 2020), total SOS Médecins activity remained stable.

Cases involving suspected COVID-19 have been declining for six weeks; during the past week, 2,037 cases across all age groups were recorded, representing a 9% decrease compared to the previous week (-209 cases). These cases accounted for 5% of total activity (vs. 6% in Week 18) and were the third most common diagnosis among adults. By region, the highest number of COVID-19 cases were recorded in Île-de-France (18%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (13%), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (12%), PACA (11%), and Grand-Est (11%).
Since the start of surveillance, 48,459 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Procedures for acute respiratory failure (+9%), isolated fever (+21%), and heart failure (+9%) in adults, as well as procedures for anxiety in children (+9%), are on the rise.

Among the most common conditions, there has been a resurgence in several conditions typically seen in SOS Médecins cases, including,

• in children: allergies (+26%), gastroenteritis (+20%), insect bites (+98%), and skin conditions (+15%);

• in adults: urinary tract infections (+9%), allergies in those aged 15–44 (+35%), and general health deterioration in those aged 65 and older (+10%);

• All ages: trauma (+10%)
