In Week 12 (March 21–27, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among 2- to 14-year-olds (+6%, or +1,188 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.
For the third consecutive week, cases involving suspected COVID-19 have increased across all age groups. In total, 2,172 cases (vs. 1,788 cases in Week 11) were recorded across all ages (a 21% increase vs. 15% in Week 11 and 18% in Week 10). Suspected COVID-19 has risen to 5th place among children aged 2–14 and to 7th place among those aged 15–74 in the ranking of the most common conditions. At the regional level, cases are on the rise in several regions, primarily in Corsica (+127%, or +154 cases), Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (+55%, or +12 cases), Île-de-France (+55%, or +165 cases), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (+54%, or 31 procedures), Occitanie (+33%, or 22 procedures), Normandy (+22%, or 35 procedures), and Brittany (+19%, or 11 procedures).
Since surveillance began on March 3, 2020, 334,387 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
For the third consecutive week, influenza has risen sharply across all age groups: +48% among children under 2, +28% among 2- to 14-year-olds, +21% among 15- to 74-year-olds, and +23% among those aged 75 and older (representing +2,434 procedures across all age groups). Treatments for bronchitis are on the rise among children (+15%, or +159 cases) and those aged 75 and older (+10%, or +23 cases), while treatments for ENT infections are rising among those aged 75 and older (+23%, or +37 cases), at levels consistent with previous years. Procedures for gastroenteritis are down across all age groups (-11%).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in procedures for allergies (+31%, or +96 procedures) and chickenpox (+34%, or +96 procedures) among 2- to 14-year-olds, as well as infectious conjunctivitis among children (+11%).
